A proper bed in a proper canal-side mill

Dorm beds and private rooms in our converted mill on the Shropshire Union Canal — clean, warm, and honest value for walkers, cyclists, boaters and small groups.

The hostel

Simple, sociable and right on the towpath

The Mill at Audlem is a youth hostel and budget accommodation run by The Mill at Audlem Ltd. We keep it simple: a bunk or a private room, a hot shower, a kitchen you can actually cook in, and a drying room when the Cheshire weather does its thing.

Audlem sits on the Shropshire Union Canal at the bottom of one of its finest lock flights — fifteen locks climbing out of the plain, towpath walks both ways, and a village with pubs, a shop and a canalside wharf a few minutes from the door.
